The government doesn't have the capability of controlling any costs if you haven't noticed. They will take over health care it will become an absolute nightmare. Eventually we will be paying 70% in taxes and will be lucky to get a decent doctor. Nuts my friend, nuts.
I wish they would privatize social security so I might have a chance to take advantage of all the money I'm putting into it. But now that we have the Dems in control that will never happen. They like big big big big government. How does the government attempt to control health care cost?
I was curious about this question myself until I was listening to NPR the other day. Here in the state of Nevada, the government mandates to the insurance companies that they must provide a minimum of 50 or so different coverages, whether or not the customer actually needs or will need them. Obviously, this is going to force the consumer to pay more and therefor make poorer people less able to afford coverage. Ironic how government intervention, even if it's well intentioned, can make life more difficult?
Certainly this is going on in other states. How does the government attempt to control health care cost?
