We are about to install one of these... they will be less pricey then OEM... They are from Kuryakyn and (in simple terms) are electro magnets. You can still move the throttle if you have to, so they are not illegal like throttle locks (locks have the off road use disclaimer) but they will not automatically shut down when you brake. I think you should go with a throttle lock clamp at about $10.00. Unless you plan to ride 100s of miles repeatedly why spend the money on a sophisticated device. You'll get none of it back when you sell or trade. Enjoy the ride however it ends up.
A cruise control on a Sporty? A Sporty isn't on the road long enough for a speed control to be needed due to the peanut tank.
harleys already have a throttle lock as standard equipment from about 1988 on... yet again, something the imports can't catch on to
just tighten the set screw under the throttle,just enough so it doesnt come back on its own,but loose enough that you can turn it back by hand,,,,thats what its there for
Just put a grip lock on like the man said $10

yeah its already got a throttle lock on it, just use that.
