What is the average cost of birth control a month?

just wondering :]What is the average cost of birth control a month?
I spend around 30 dollars for the generic brand it could be more for a name brand. What is the average cost of birth control a month?
you can always go to a clinic and they have it cheap or free there
It depends on the brand and if you have insurance or not etc.

Should Obama nationalize the Auto and Oil industry to control costs?

If he did, Hugo Chavez would though him a party.

I am not for pleasing Hugo.Should Obama nationalize the Auto and Oil industry to control costs?
Nationalizing any industry is likely to raise costs, not control them. They no longer have any incentive to be efficient. Would you want the same folks making your cars that handle your Post Office? If the government takes over the oil industry, be prepared to pay $10 per gallon for fuel if you can get any.Should Obama nationalize the Auto and Oil industry to control costs?
There is justification for doing that because the auto industry is such a critical part of our ability to defend ourselves during war time. No other industry and be so easily tooled over to build tanks, planes, hummers, transport trucks, bombs, and other war implements, etc. It's how we won WWII. We're not going to be able to get foreign owned companies to build them for us and risk drawing themselves into our conflicts and/or becoming a target themselves. However, the will be okay do to union concessions if they can just get through the next 6 months until the bank crisis clears up. Car sales are at a 25 year old due to no one being able to get loans!

As for cost savings, they and the UAW was done a lot over the past few years to cut costs, many things are set to start as of 2009. See my source for a detailed list.
NO NO NO, not until our politicians can show us they want to work for us and not just to put money in the pockets of the people they are beholden to just because they got them elected, and look our at the things our government runs now, every program that is government runs is on the verge of collapse and runs in the red, and you want them to take on more, we need less government not more, and how are you going to nationalize the oil industry? we import over 70% of what we consume, so in order to nationalize the oil industry you would have to take over country's like Iraq oops we trying that now (and you so how good a job our government has done there). and the only reason the auto industry is in this shape is because of greed and mismanagement, they made billions and billions for years and years and never reinvested in their own companies, hell if Toyota and Honda had not come around they still would be building cars your lucky if you get 100,000 miles out of. we need to let them die out like the dinosaurs they are, out of death comes new life, where there is a market for something, someone always steps up and becomes the supplier, No to a bail out and for sure no to nationalization!
The only way to do that is to disban unions. If he could get away with it, it would be the best thing he could do.

As far a bailing out the automakers though, I say let them fail and let them be allowed to go to a bankruptcy plan that will allow them to restructure. Again, the best way to do that would be for them to get rid of the unions and start bringing benefits and wages more in line with the rest of the businesses in the country. They are outrageous.
Nationalization is rarely a good thing. for example mexico recently announced that they will soon have to stop exporting oil. this is due to the diminishing output. They nationalized and couldnt keep up with equipment maint. or research and development, venezuela will eventually have the same problem.
Yeah then he can just let him appoint a job for each person and tell them how much they can make. When they can go to work and when they can come home! Where you can live, and send your kids to school, how much food you need. Get the point The government needs to stay out not be involved in everything.
All big three are BROKE. The government cannot possibly save them.

We UAW members in my Chrysler plant are willing to sacrifice. Like take a 50% cut in pay and rid the company of burden of those huge retirement benefits of $4000 a month each retiree. I dont think we out to get a DIME until we do our part which WE HAVE NOT DONE. There have been mickey mouse concessions to the big three. Now lets get down to business and help Chrysler, Yes, us UAW members lets do it.
If he does this there will be lines for gas all over the country. Carter tried something like this and well, he was not re-elected. He lost pitifully. So, in my opinion, sure go ahead Obama, then we all can move on from this national embarrassment.

Absolutely not. Part of a free market is that some businesses fail. Trust me, you do not want government control with businesses. Look at Russia. Regulated Capitalism works just fine.
With the Big 3 U.S. Automakers circling the drain, here are 10 solutions to the current crisis and none of them involve sticking your head between your legs and kissing your rear goodbye.

http://fastandloud.com/how-to-save-the-u鈥?/a>
I think it would spell the end of our nation as a democracy. And it would not control costs or anything else. The federal govt could not run a bake sale and make it work worth a hoot.
Dear God. So USA will be the new Soviet Union? Communism is not a choice. Obama is not Hugo Chavez, Erich Honecker or Fidel Castro.
No. Simply force the oil industry to subsidize the auto industry.
yes. American Industry can't survive without government.
Dixon is a liar and isn't a UAW member,they don't get a $4000 a month pension.
This is not Venezuela and we need to keep it that way, so no.
NO

How do i get fixed of malfunction of idol control system of Acura integra 1998 (code p0505) what is the cost?

Replace the idle air control motor, component sits under the throttle body, would highly recommend to replace it with Acura part. You need a 12mm socket to remove the throttle body,be careful as not to damage the gasket,is not necessary to remove linkage but disconnect any electrical connectors as not to stress the wiring, remove two coolant lines from the IAC motor, flip the t/body and remove the screws to remove the IAC,replace the gasket, install the new motor and reassemble in reverse order. disconnect the battery for 10 to 20 seconds to clear code, start and run the engine @ 3000 rpm until the coolant fans come on then let idle for two fan cycles,to set idle learn. Idle Learn is very important and something alot of Techs don't perform and wannabe's don't know about. Good LuckHow do i get fixed of malfunction of idol control system of Acura integra 1998 (code p0505) what is the cost?
It is either the wires / connector to the Idle Air Controller (IAC) or the IAC motor.

IAC basically opens and closes the throttle at idle so it stays at constants RPM.

They are not fixed. They are replaced.

Good Luck...

Low-Cost/Free annual exams and birth control in Sarasota, FL?

Does anyone know of or better yet have experience with a clinic in Sarasota that offer low-cost/free annual exams and birth control. I am a full-time college student that just moved to the area from Maine and I do not have health insurance. One place you can check to find out about free annual exams and birth control is thru the city health department. Also, check with the county because sometimes the counties offer these kind of services.

Health care reform is going to be expensive, so don't we need to institute a maximum age to control costs?

If you're enrolled in a government system you should only be allowed to reach a certain age, maybe around 60 or 65 and then you will be humanely euthanized.Health care reform is going to be expensive, so don't we need to institute a maximum age to control costs?
I've got a better idea. Euthanize trolls instead.Health care reform is going to be expensive, so don't we need to institute a maximum age to control costs?
The cost of reform is not cheap, but the cost of inaction is far greater, in lives, quality of life and dollars.

Those are the words of Republican John Dingell, what he went on to say was that the growth in increasing costs are not sustainable, the insurance companies are doing every thing they can to stop this reform, and also that 45000 people a die in the US a year because of lack of insurance and insurance not paying up.

So if 45000 of involuntary euthanized people is not enough for you, then keep on with supporting your wonderful insurance companies in their diabolical quest to put profit before people, until this country finally capitulates into the deepest mire of economic collapse ever!
Clever sarcasm, but obviously the limits/rationing as well as the increased taxation-related methods to insure payment into the system will be done in the most subtle ways possible, because people protest anything that is necessary to make a policy even remotely financially feasible.
It isn't going to be near as expensive as the wasteful programs we have now, that it would replace.
That is a scary stupid idea. If the health system cannot serve all ages, it is useless.
Two out of three aint bad.

Toyota Camry 2005 Control Arm Replacement Cost. Told it would be $1,800 FOR right and left HELP!!!!!?

I went in with a question about pulsation on braking at high speed. So far I've got new front brakes, turned rotors and refurbished (no change in shoes) rear brakes at $500 plus. Toyota Camry 2005 Control Arm Replacement Cost. Told it would be $1,800 FOR right and left HELP!!!!!?
Do by your self, it is not that hard. Just buy new arms, you are safe a allot moneyToyota Camry 2005 Control Arm Replacement Cost. Told it would be $1,800 FOR right and left HELP!!!!!?
Do you still have the pulsation after turning the brakes?Where did you take your car?About the only reason the control arms would be bad or bent would be a collision that would make the alignnment off, but not necessarily cause a pulsation. Now, a bent hub could cause wobble because the rotor is mounted to the hub and rotates with the rotors. What was the reasoning behind needed control arms? If the repair facility turned the brakes and did those repairs-why are they not standing behind their work? In our shop, if we diagnosed the car as needing the brake repairs and there still was an issue--we would be doing the next repair for free. If this is the case-maybe its time to start raising hell!
So why do you need lower control arms? Anyway Toyota will cover control arms if you are at right mileage and they are truly bad. Call your Toyota dealership and ask them if your warranty will cover you. The front brake (if done correctly) will fix pulsating brake pedal.
Wow, what a ripoff. I bought the control arms for my geo on ebay for $50 each. The originals were pretty badly rusted. In addition, I could (very easily) move the ball joints with my fingers, which is a big no-no (the ball joints are integrated into the control arm %26amp; bushings assembly and are not a separate replacement).

One more item they'll dump on you at the last minunte....wheel alignment. They'll also probably say your struts %26amp; springs are in bad shape, as well as your tie rod ends....and and and...but honestly you will need a wheel alignment after replacing the control arms.

    Always a classic...';But I thought my rotors turn when I drive the car...';

Shouldn't NEED this repair. Better find a different repair facility.
    OUCH!

I would not go back there!

There is no reason to replace your control arms unless they are bent!

Worn ball joints and bushings can be replaced

When I bought my Harley Super Glide I almost passed it by because the mid controls made for an uncomfortable riding position. I'm 6'-3'; and have long legs. I bought it off a private party. He had the forward controls in his garage and told me they would help. He put them on in no time. I rode it and bought it. You'll love the riding position. So there is really no big deal putting them on, you'll get instructions with the kit. Get a price from the Harley dealer, J %26amp; P Cycles, or any other aftermarket company. Then get the best deal. I think they're around $300-$400, but it's money well spent. How much TRouble /cost to make a super glide or street bob to foward control not mid?

Why is it vital for a a soletrader to control costs?

    Aside from the following;

unable to operate the business due to bad debts and so on

owner may face law suits and may have to sell off assets

    unable to pay overheads

    business and owner reputation hindered

    problems with suppliers and employees

unable to develop businessWhy is it vital for a a soletrader to control costs?
None of the reasons you mentioned is the correct answer or even part of it.

All businesses have to control costs because turnover says nothing about the profitability of a business. It is the net profit which finances everything a business requires, including capital purchases, purchases for resale, wages and bank interest.

Costs being controlled are what allows the business to spend less than it earns and thus finance it's costs and leave a profit.

A sole trader has to be particularly careful because there is no limited liability protection which exists for a limited company so the proprietor is personally liable for business debts and losses.

Rick MDHow much does a birth-control shot cost?
i believe if you go to planned parenthood, or something like it...it costs about 60 every three months
Only your physician can tell you how much HE charges for a birth control shot. Not every doctor has the same fees. Just ask!
I work in an OB/GYN office. I post the daily encounter forms.(the money) This shot will cost between $45-$70. Depending on your insurance.
I'm assuming you're talking about Depo provera. It depends on where you go and what type of insurance you have. If you don't have insurance, you can go to Planned parenthood and the shot normally is $70 to 100. Remember that the shot last 3 months. Go check out the clinic and ask how much they charge. If you don't make a lot, they will give you a reduced price.
it varies by area and by dr.You can get them free at a health clinic if you qualify income wise alot of times.

Does anyone know how much aviane birth control costs without insurance?

I was on aviane birth control about five months ago and i quit. I had insurance and it would cost 10 bucks to get it. But now i dont have insurance anymore so does anyone have an idea as to how much it will cost. Also do you know if i can just get back on it without consulting my doctor because i still have refills on it. thanks.Does anyone know how much aviane birth control costs without insurance?
I'm not covered, and I pay around 40$ for 3 months of Aviane.

It's cheaper if you buy your perscription all at once, like 6 months instead of one at a time, because pharmacys charge a dispensing fee. (So then you only have to pay it once!)

If you still have refills it shouldnt be a problem to go back on it, you'll just have to see a doctor when you run out. Just make sure if you go back on aviane, you stay on it for a while, because going on and off the pill all the time can cause side effects, you know, like cramping, spotting, etc.

Why aren't insurance companies helping to Control costs?

You can already go out and buy health insurance on your own. ( an average family of 4 will never be able to afford it) why then does the insurance industry and cons fight, lie, and mislead the country, but not point out this Option? why cant these people offer good quality health insurance at a lower cost? Why aren't insurance companies helping to Control costs?
The insurance companies now want us to pay 35 cents on every dollar and the republicans are trying to help them do it. *Why aren't insurance companies helping to Control costs?
    They -do- control costs, by rationing care. 8^%26lt;

We made a big mistake in allowing the insurance companies to own our entire health care system. Rather than just sell insurance, they now own the hospitals and clinics, and the doctors work for them. So the have no incentive to control medical costs because higher costs mean higher profits. They -do- have the incentive to be skimpy in handing out medical care.

Our entire medical care infrastructure now is mostly owned by 7 corporations. These corporations are so powerful that they control the debate. They give lots of money to both parties during elections, so neither party is going to do anything that would adversely affect their profits. Every health care reform plan has the same feature: It just 'incidentally' strengthens and perpetuates corporate control of health care. In fact Obama's plan, like Bill Clinton's plan, like GHW Bush's plan, can be seen as no more than a subsidy of the existing insurance industry.
The insurance companies ARE trying to control costs. They exclude high risk people, so they don't have to pay for ones most expected to get sick.

They exclude people with pre-existing conditons, so they don't have to pay for treatment of them either. If you smoke, you pay higher rates. If your family history makes you more risky, you pay higher rates. They even

try to find reasons to drop customers who get sick and make a claim.

The fact is that healthcare is outrageously expensive. And even with all these cost saving measures, the price of insuring people to pay for expensive healthcare when they do need it is correspondingly outrageous as well. Why is healthcare so expensive? The greed of the healthcare industry, the greed of lawyers who go for outrageous lawsuit settlements, the greed of politicians who make money indirectly from the industry by structuring the laws the way they are.

Insuring large groups of people is the most cost efficient way to insure them, because the risk is spread around. Especially when you are allowed to exclude some high risk people. But when you are forced to include everyone, or when insuring smaller groups, the number of people actually using the insurance goes up, and thus so do costs. The ugly truth is that the whole industry depends on large numbers of healthy people paying into the system, and not using the services. This is why the government wants to make it mandatory that everyone participate.

But all those sick people will be included too, so costs will go up, and quality will go down. Look how they run medicare (going broke). Look how they run the post office (going broke).

It sorta like a gym membership. They love to sell tons of gym memberships, because only a small percentage of people actually end up using the gym. Most people never go. They count on this, so they can keep selling more and more memberships. But if everyone who had a membership decided to show up, the whole system would collapse.
I have a family of four, and we can afford our health insurance. My husband is serving our country, and I work for a corporation that contributes to our health insurance premiums, if I take out the coverage through them. You most certainly have the same options available to you, you simply choose to not work hard to make yourself marketable to good companies.

I think you liberals are the ones misleading the country.
They have no incentive to. Because the more they charge, the more money they make. And, there is nothing to stop them from doing that now. THAT is why we're trying to reform health care!

And, that is exactly why Obama is trying to create a public option. So people will have a CHOICE, and they will have to lower costs to compete. Why the neocons are against this is beyond me...
Because of the way that government the runs the medicare/medicaid program (and a few private insurers too - mostly union associated). Specifically, the ridiculous way that the government determines what things SHOULD cost and how they reimburse - they drive up the costs and private insurance MUST be charged the same as the government so it drives up premiums.
There is no need. As costs go up, insurance companies just raise premiums.

As consumers, we HAVE to have insurance. We have no choice but to pay whatever they want.
The insurance industry is the 9th most profitable industry in America. They don't want that to change.

Why do you think they are spending millions fighting reform?
Oh, they CAN offer it. They just choose profit over the greater good.

Which is really quite ridiculous because they could do both.

    Greed.
The customers are demanding more and more
they're corrupted just like he US government

  • Should my b'f pay half of birth control cost?

My b'f feels that he shouldn't have to pay for half of my birth control cost. He has paid for condoms when I wasn't on birth control for a couple months. I have been paying for my birth control for a few months by myself. However the cost has gone up and is now $26.00 per month, should I have to pay this myself or should he be helping me?Should my b'f pay half of birth control cost?
Ultimately, it is your own responsibility to pay for birth control.

However, I can definitely see where you're coming from... because he is contributing to the ';fun'; part of it all, %26amp; bith control can get exspensive, I understand how you can feel that he should help pay the costs... Unfortunately, if he is not willing to contribute, it's not something you can force him to do.

Try Planned Parenthood, you may be able to get birth control at less of an exspense through them.

Good Luck ~Should my b'f pay half of birth control cost?
It is the principal of the thing. He should pay for half. If I doesn't, I would tell him to get his nooky somewhere else.
Yes I think he should definately help you. It takes two to tango :)

Sit down and explain to him how you feel. But I totally agree..he should help you out a little bit...if he doesn't want to help, then you should think about what else he wouldn't help you out with in the future. A relationship is like a team. Everyone should put work into it. Good luck, sweetie.
He should definitley be paying at very least half. Tell him if he doesnt start helping you pay, you'll stop having sex with him, then see what he does. It sounds like he's using you, if he cared it wouldn't matter to him. Ditch this jerk
$26 a month isn't crap. Just pay it and quit being a whiny a**.
he should pay for all of em---you are doing him a great favor by letting him get inside you without a condom---trust me the feeling is worth the 26 a month easy
    Hmmmmm... interesting question.

Did you have to pay for half of the condoms?

But ultimately- l think --- yes, he should. If you're both going to be 'adult' enough to have sex, then you should both be adult enough to share the expense of having it.

The alternative is to go back to condoms he paid for, or get no nookie at all...

And besides... $26 is CHEAP! Compare that to $10,000 to have a baby, and the $200,000 in life and living expenses to raise it to adult hood.
Sorry, i'm from a more male kind of society but we are now in the world of male and female equality kind of, due to this it should be a joint responsibility and since he's also been handling an aspect of the same matter. I therefore think you should go ahead and be paying but if in the actual fact you can not afford the bill, then, talk with him. If not for the male /female equality stuff i would have submit that he should be paying all.
Why should he pay? If you don't want to get pregnant, then pay for the pills. Or make him use condoms.
uhhh yeah..... I made my boyfriend help....its benefitimg both of you and you shouldnt have the burden of shelling out $26.00 bucks every month......make him help you.....or no sex.....LOL
well if you go to planned parenthood should be able to give it to u for free...trust me and they give you like a pack of guy/girl condoms....and pills your choice...but you can find one anywhere just look at the yellow pages or the internet...and they wont rat you out or anything its all confidential even if someone u knw works there they cant say anything or else you can sew them...lol
what will God says about sex before Marriage?
That is something for you to negotiate.

You could explain to him that if there were a baby he would have to pay. Maybe you could just agree that he pays for dinner or lunch or other expenses to make up, if he has a problem paying specifically for that.

truthfully most women bear the cost themselves. but he should at least buy the gas when you go out to make up.
Either he pays $13 a month or child support for 18 years.
Why should he pay for YOUR pills. Sure he paid for condoms because the are for HIM.
I would say no...i pay my own birth control...$26.00 is cheap. or go on seasonale..the generic is jolessa, it is only like $21.00 for 3months and you only get 4 periods a year. think of it this way...$26.00 a month is cheaper than a baby.
you feel he should pay because you bought them while

you are dating him. It is your responsibility to take care

of your own body. You should still be using condoms

NOTHING is 100%. Pill only lowers pregnancy, condoms

On the surface I would say that no he should not have too. But it is your relationship. I just asked a question that was similar in concept but got called less than a man for doing so. ultimately it is your responsibility. But if he cares about you and himself, and you want to continue in a responsible manner then he should have not a problem. Cheaper than pampers!!
How did you get involved with such a cheapskate? If he is too cheap to pay for the supplies you need, for both of you, dump him. He is a user and you are being used. Men are supposed to be responsible for women, not the other way around. Tell him to put up some money, or go pay a hooker for the same services, that should get his attention. Too many guys are using women and they can only be used if they permit it to happen. Men don't value anything they get free or cheap. Why do you think you need this loser? Best wishes
well as i see it he could be nice and offer but i know i wouldnt pay for birth control for my G/F i would buy condoms. just because you are on birth control doesn't mean you can't get pregnant.
birth control is free in the uk, but hell yeah, if you have to pay for it he should cough up half the cost too! or either he has suffer and survive on half rations lol
get it free at the clinic or ask your doctor if he has free samples...

A good boyfriend would pay in full each month. tell him the cost of a child is much more
He should definitely pay half the cost! After all, if you were to concieve, whose baby would it be, both of yours or just yours?!
it's YOUR choice to be on the pill, you should fit the bill....i understand your reasoning though- but it's not really in HIS control (not shouting- there just isn't a bolding function)
no...you decided to go on it...so you should pay for it yourself..

and thats alot to pay each month....i think you can get it way cheeper
Um.. why are you paying?? Be smart and go to a clinic and get those for free!!! they will also give you a bag full of condoms, girl spermacide and morning after pill!!! just say you don't have insurance and go!!!
    SEX IZ FUN
You may want to consider the question of whether you should be having sex with a man like this which is far more important than the cost of condoms.
Depends, do you have a job? If you have a job, then I'm sure you can pay $26.00 a month. Even on a part time, minimum wage job. (especially since you get paid twice a month).
i say yes. my b/f pays for half of mine, and we both think thats totally reasonable. after all, you're both benefitting from it. besides, birth control pills are more expensive than condoms.
if its both of your decision then yes, you should split the cost, mabey you can pay it for yourself for as long as he paid the the condoms then the two of you can split it from there, you two shouldnt be so picky about who pays for what, who ever has it, just pay it and help eachother out whenever. but for the sake of 50/50, thats what i recommend- good luck.

How much does the birth control shot cost?

What is Depo-Provera and how does it work?

It's a shot of synthetic progesterone that you get every three months to prevent pregnancy. Like other hormonal birth control methods (including the Pill), Depo-Provera works by preventing ovulation 鈥?so the ovary doesn't release an egg to be fertilized. It also alters the lining of your uterus, making it hard for an egg to lodge there if one does slip through; and thickens the mucus around your cervix, which can keep sperm from entering.

Is Depo-Provera a good choice for contraception?

    Pros

Depo-Provera may be a good option for you 鈥?especially if you're a busy, new mom because it's convenient: You don't have to remember to take a pill every day or to insert or apply any devices or products before intercourse. You just get the shot every three months. In fact, some women choose to get the first injection the day they leave the hospital after giving birth. And if you're careful about having your shots on time, it's more than 99 percent effective. Progesterone (the same hormone used in birth control pills) prevents you from ovulating; thins the lining of your uterus, making it hard for an egg to lodge there if one does slip through; and thickens the mucus around your cervix, which can keep sperm from entering.

    Cons

On the other hand, if you decide to have another baby, you can't just go off it and expect to get pregnant right away. It may take you up to a year after you stop the injections to start ovulating again, even though your period may return to normal after about six months. So if you think you might want to get pregnant in the next year, this isn't the right choice for you. This method also may not be a good choice if you have a history of unexplained vaginal bleeding, major depression, diabetes, breast cancer, or any liver disease (including hepatitis and abnormal results on liver-function tests). Finally, Depo-Provera won't protect you from sexually transmitted infections.

Is it safe to use Depo-Provera if I'm nursing?

According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Depo-Provera is a safe choice for breastfeeding women. Depo-Provera doesn't affect the quality of breast milk (like combination estrogen/progesterone contraceptives can). And studies have found that it's not harmful to babies. Though the makers of Depo-Provera suggest that you wait until your child is older than six weeks to use this method if you're nursing (that's the age group they studied for approval of the drug), many doctors say this is overly cautious and that you can start taking it right away.

How do I get the shot?

First you'll need a physical to insure you don't have any conditions that would make Depo-Provera a bad choice for you. Your gynecologist or a health-care worker at a women's clinic will give you the injection in your buttock or upper arm. She or he will usually recommend that you get the first one within five days after your period starts, so you can be absolutely sure you're not pregnant. You should use a backup method such as condoms for a week after your first shot. Subsequent shots will be effective immediately as long as you're getting them every 12 weeks. Realistically, there's a small amount of overlap between shots, so if you're late for your 12 week shot, it's not the end of the world. Still, be sure to use a backup method of contraception such as a condom to be on the safe side if you're late for your shot. Each shot costs between $30 and $75, depending on where you have it done and your insurance coverage.

    Are there any side effects?

You may have irregular periods or spotting for the first three to six months, but many women eventually stop menstruating altogether while they're on Depo-Provera. This means you're less likely to become anemic, since you won't be losing all that iron in your menstrual blood. It also significantly reduces the risk that you'll develop endometriosis, acute pelvic inflammatory disease, or cancer of the uterus (endometrial cancer).

On the downside, some women complain of side effects, such as feeling bloated, weight gain, headaches, nausea, dizziness, acne, breast tenderness, decreased sex drive, nervousness, insomnia, or moodiness or depression. Although Depo-Provera may cause a temporary loss in bone density, (this is reversed once you stop the injections) it hasn't been shown to increase your risk for fractures or osteoporosis. Researchers are looking into whether long-term use can do permanent damage to your bones. Call your doctor if you develop a skin rash or itching or if you have trouble breathing after a shot; you may be allergic to this form of progesterone. How much does the birth control shot cost?
I don't have insurance so I have to pay around $75 for the Depoprovera or $65 for the generic. How much does the birth control shot cost?
if you have a planned parenthood where you live at then go there and tell them you have no insurance. they'll make you fill out some paper work and then you can get the shot for free
Nothing if you have insurance otherwise it'll run about $70 for each shot.
in canada i pay 35 dollars every three months

not sure where you're from...I'm from Ontario, Canada and I do not have insurance for prescriptions. I used to be on birth control pills (I've gotten off them because I'm out of work and had surgery) but when I was taking them, they cost me about $27.

List six specific ways to control the rising cost of health care?

Stop allowing drug companies to advertise directly to the consumer. The drugs advertised are the new ones - the ones without generic alternatives. The patient asks the doctor for the latest and greatest drug because they saw it on television. A drug with a generic alternative may work just as well, but if the patient asks for the new advertised drug and the doctor believes it works, that's what they get - and it's more expensive.

Restrain the insurance companies. Have you ever visited one? I have. The ones I've been to include things like a three story water fountain in the foyer, a 20 acre property with walking paths and landscaped ponds, an exercise room with a swimming pool for the employees, and a cafeteria that rivals most 4 star restaurants. Oh, and in the summer, everyone goes home at noon on Friday. Nice bennies. Glad you can enjoy yourselves on my dollar.

Get a handle on fraud, and prosecute (and punish) heavily - monetarily - to prevent it. That's fraud on the part of the ';patients'; who falsely claim injuries as well as healthcare providers and insurance companies who are complicit.

Just cut the prices. Too many people/companies/hospitals are making too much money off of the suffering of others. Sometimes it's intentional, and sometimes there is a lot of ';fat'; that could be trimmed within organizations. Too much administration, not enough health care.

Stop focusing on the individuals. Stop insisting that everyone should be trying to live forever. Stop cramming ';good health'; down everyone's throats. Some people say that if everyone were healthy, health costs would go down. But that's an impossible goal, and just distracts from the other, much larger issues. I'm not saying that we should ignore serious medical conditions. I just think that we need to stop overdiagnosing ourselves - not every problem in our lives should be blamed on a ';disease.'; Some conditions we are suffering from may have been prevented by being LESS ';health conscious.'; Allergies, for example, have risen drastically since World War II - as we became germophobic and overuseres of antibiotics. It is suggested that people who grow up on farms or with pets are less likely to develop allergies or asthma because they are exposed to harmful bacteria when they are very young, and their immune systems learn what they're supposed to be fighting. It's a verifiable fact that there are far fewer allergies in third world countries, where living conditions are not as clean as they are here. There are also suggestions that certain parasites (yes, worms) are actually beneficial - they help to balance our immune systems. Not making it up - read the May 2006 National Geographic article, and the Wikipedia link below.

Create a national health plan, cutting out as many middle-men as possible. Set standard prices for common services. Provide basic coverage for everyone, and allow those with more money to purchase more comprehensive plans. Stop allowing people to be excluded from health care because they don't earn enough money.

The United States spends almost twice as much on health care as any other industrialized nation, but we aren't any healthier. Obviously what we're doing now doesn't work. Radical changes are required, but we've become such a bureaucracy that we aren't capable of making those kinds of changes anymore.List six specific ways to control the rising cost of health care?

And to go back to the true reason why the profession ever came about.List six specific ways to control the rising cost of health care?
You can choose a higher deductible or copayment option. Choose generic medicine. Ok, I can think of 2, sorry. Wellness programs, makes 3.
    1. tort reform. There is a lot of money wasted in frivolous lawsuits. Even doctors who aren't sued end up having to practice ';defensive medicine';, which is expensive

    2. encourage patients to be compliant. Patients who fail to take their meds sometimes end up in the hospital because of it.

    3. encourage patients to stop using the local emergency room as a primary care office. Some people can't help it, but people with insurance shouldn't go to the ER for a routine sore throat.

    4. discourage patients from pressuring their doctors into ordering the newest, latest work-up when it isn't needed.

    5. discourage patients from demanding antibiotics for infections that probably aren't bacterial in the first place. Overuse of antibiotics leads to resistance.

    6. encourage patients to eat right, exercise, wear seat belts while driving, etc. These measures would cause the rates of diabetes, heart disease and trauma to go down, as well as their related costs.
I can't think of any good ones. The main thing is to aviod urself going to healthcare centres - prevention is better than cure!

EDIT: The trailing arm is around $65 and the lateral rod is around $35. Either one takes around a half hour to install(book time). Like I said though, you NEVER repair a piece like that, replacement only.

How much does it cost to add cruise control to your car?

There are aftermarket cruise control units out there for $100 give or take. Installation should be anywhere between $150 -$300+ depending on the car.

Be aware though, the aftermarket add-ons usually do not operate in seamless or reliable fashion as one might come to expect from an OEM unit. In many cases it may not even worth the money invested unless you do the installation yourself. But remember, improperly installed cruise control could result in fatal accidents.

I live in US and I currently do not have any insurance. I go to Planned Parenthood since they have affordable/free services and birth control depending on your income. They did offer me free birth control actually, but I liked the (generic) brand I was taking already. That costs me about $25.00 a month from the pharmacy. Brand names ones likely would cost more, but I am not exactly sure how much.

Its around 鈧? - 鈧?0 for a months supply. It is available here and it has not been recalled. I know some people have had problems with it (including me) but it is still available. It is probably cheaper because medical products are quite expensive here.Does anyone know how much Yaz birth control costs in Ireland?
not sure if it has been recalled a lot, but a lot of girls have had problems with that pill. I was going to take it,until i seen a commercial one day for the effects and fatalities it has caused with woman taking it, and it scared me out of it. You should research it first!

CIMA or ACCA? I want to focus on preparing accounts, not budgeting / cost control / business planning??

I am a Management Accountant in industry %26amp; my role entails cost control, forecasting, ad-hoc financial analysis, month-end reporting / journal uploads, billing, etc. My job involves a great deal of administrative work %26amp; I also have to regularly chase / pester managers for various bits of information, which can be very tedious %26amp; boring.

I would much prefer to work on preparing accounts for external clients, focus more on my technical accounting skills, maybe even specialise in tax or work in practice...but I definitely do not want to do audit - is it possible to work in practice %26amp; avoid audit alltogether?

Basically, I don't want to work on forecasts/budgets/business planning or do audits but I do want to prepare client accounts %26amp; assist with their accounting needs - can anyone advise what type of company I should focus on securing a position with?

Also I am studying for the foundation level CIMA certificate but should I swap to ACCA for the professional qualification? Thanks!CIMA or ACCA? I want to focus on preparing accounts, not budgeting / cost control / business planning??
ACCA is for you i think. They have 2 audit papers as an option, not compulsory. They have 2 taxation papers (one advanced), less emphasis on people management, more on accounting practice.

Also, if you want to specialise, have a look at the CTA, (i think thats what its called) Chartered Tax Accountants.

If you are looking to secure a suitable workplace, it might be worth looking at a BA Hons in accounting and taxation, some offer a work placement in the second year. (full time course though).CIMA or ACCA? I want to focus on preparing accounts, not budgeting / cost control / business planning??
yeah, ACCA sounds more like what you want. I study CIMA, its more about management and good financial over view. My boss, who's an ex lecturer says there is not difference really between the two, except for added emphasis of the audit function on ACCA.
It has to be ACCA. Qualified Accountant.

Does anyone know how much it cost to replace the lamp or lamps power control board in a flat panel monitor?

It depends on the manufacturer, size, and style of the monitor. It will most likely cost in the hundreds of dollars including labor and such other costs. It may be more cost-effective to buy a new one depending on your monitor. Any replacement parts will either have to come from a used monitor, or from the manufacturer most likely. If you are in college, you probably have student health insurance... am I right? If so, go to your student health center. Most birth controls are free through them, and the rest are at a great discount.

If you aren't covered by student health insurance, then Planned Parenthood or your local health department are great places to go. Both operate on a sliding scale, so you only have to pay what you can afford.

Follow this link, and you can enter a zip code to find the closest Planned Parenthood: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/Birth control cost? And where can I get it?
if you are unemployed ive heard of people going through the department of health and getting it that way, im not sure how much that costs but i know that they work with people that cant afford a normal doctor. Planned Parenthood im not sure how much that would cost either it probably depends on what kind you get.

How much do they cost, powrtrain control module ? 1996 sebring convertible, jxi?

There around $200.00 and you might have to get from a dealer and have it reprogrammed. How much do they cost, powrtrain control module ? 1996 sebring convertible, jxi?
Find out via the dealership what yr came with the flash update I suspect the 97 is the same PCM and so is the main comp=ECM. I'd recommend that you change these two comps together bec they kind of work like a teeter totter and even a main comp can cause the PCM to fail, so it too could be faulty.

If you shop around you'll probably find a do it yourself auto wreckers that if you take those off yourself you may pay as little as 30 bucks a piece for them or up to over 75 to 100 bucks each at the higher priced wreckers.

Keep in mind that these comps have to also relearn and that takes time or about 400 to 500 kms of driving usually especially on that yr of vehicle.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I'd check the main comp ground wires too bec they could be rusty or corroded or faulty too on a vehicle that age and are cheap at dealership to purchase usually too.How much do they cost, powrtrain control module ? 1996 sebring convertible, jxi?
It depends on where you get it.

Start with car-part.com, these parts are used but that will be the cheapest you will find them at. Note what other cars they are pulling them off of that will interchange.

Napa should have one as well as other major parts houses. These will be next cheapest.

The dealer may still be able to supply them (which will cost the most).

There may be a supplier for them that specializes in Mopar or Mitsubishi cars. These might be upgrades, if they are out there.

E-bay Motors might have one, but this is not the choice way to do it in my opinion. This is because of my fear of paying a lot for a part that may not be good and the seller being miles away. It helps to have a local contact that will stand behind the product.

What % of project cost is allocated to preoject monitoring, evaluation and control and why?

if some civl engineering personals can help me, thnaking in anticipationWhat % of project cost is allocated to preoject monitoring, evaluation and control and why?
We call the cost for project monitoring, evaluation, control %26amp; supervision as overhead cost.

Normally the overhead cost ranges from 7% to 15% of the project cost but depending on the type of a project. This percentage cost was included in the derivation of the unit costs of payable items in the project along with the percentage costs for profit, materials, labor/wages, plant/equipment.

The overhead cost contains all the salaries of technical personnels and staff which are not directly involved in the production or shall we say ';the dirty works';. We called these technical personnels %26amp; their staff as ';Indirect Manpowers'; while those directly involved in the production are called ';Direct Manpowers';. The salary of Direct Manpowers falls under the percentage for labor/wages.

';Indirect Manpowers'; are as follows; The Project Managers, The Engineers, Draftsmen, Survey Crew, Laboratory Crew, Accounts, Admin Staff, Clerks %26amp; Service Staff. While the ';Direct Manpowers'; are; Foremen, Equipment Operators, The Skilled Workers, Semi-Skilled Workers and Unskilled Workers.

What consequence might there be if the government tries to control costs using price ceilings?

(Or an insurance company)What consequence might there be if the government tries to control costs using price ceilings?
Price ceilings would result in shortages of that product/s on which they are introduced. It would also result in a higher price being paid for that product (in a black market) than what would have been the price had the natural forces of demand and supply come to an equilibrium price.

About how much do Yasmin birth control pills cost?

Anywhere from $40 and up, depending on which pharmacy you use.About how much do Yasmin birth control pills cost?
It depends whereabouts you live in the world. In the UK they are free (on the NHS, it costs the NHS around 拢5 (US$10) per one month pack). In the US they are very expensive, $46.99 for a one month pack (according to www.walgreens.com), though some insurance companies cover part of the cost. I live in Grand Cayman, where insurance doesn't cover contraception, and most things are way more expensive than the US, but it still only costs CI$11.61 per month (around US$14). This is similar to the cost in other parts of the world that its available. I've always wondered why on earth its so expensive in the US - anyone shed any light on this? Something to do with insurance companies?? I've been on Yasmin for three months and no side effects so far. Good luck!About how much do Yasmin birth control pills cost?

Need some advice with my shopping list/cost. Is meal planning effective in cost control?

I am going to the grocery store this afternoon. I can only go about twice a month, so I buy two weeks worth and always spend like 300 or more dollars, and I am finding that I seem to throw away the produce because some of it rots before I use it, like salads and cabbage. I don't do meal planning. I just go to the store and throw stuff in the basket, which I think is part of the cost problem. Do you think if I plan meals out, it will be cost effective? Also, have any of you used those green bags or whatever they are that are supposed to keep produce longer. Do they work? I live so far from the store I can only go twice a month, so produce is not lasting. I can't buy frozen lettuce obviously and certain things just don't freeze and you can't buy them frozen. Any advice on cost control? How to keep produce longer? Thanks?Need some advice with my shopping list/cost. Is meal planning effective in cost control?
This is something I have been researching too since I am done working for a while and our budget is going to be shrinking some.

We have many stores within a few minutes distance of us, but I have found that I hate grocery shopping with a passion and also that when I go more often I spend more than if I just go once or twice a month.

I have been trying to do some meal planning (looking at the ads helps decide whats on sale). And when I find a good deal I often buy extra and freeze it. Most meats freeze very well. I open the package (say a pack of chicken) and put the meat in freezer bags according to how many of that item we will eat per meal. So an 8 pack of chicken gets divided in two (4 pieces per meal, we like leftovers).

I also will make like spaghetti sauce in larger amounts and freeze the extra sauce for a meal another night. Its quick to heat up and is good!

Another more cost affective way is to really use your leftovers, like if a recipe calls for half an onion, try to make a recipe next that calls for the other half of that onion. Or if a recipe calls for 2 chicken breasts and you have a pack of 5 then the next meal you make should use the other 3 chicken breasts. This really helps save on the waste factor.

As far as lettuce goes, we buy the packaged lettuce (I hate chopping lettuce) and wash it in the strainer, and then keep it in a larger tupperware container. It keeps pretty well. A lot of rot happens if your fridge's temp is set wrong (some have a separate temp guage for the produce) so make sure that its not TOO cold...when stuff freezes in the fridge it tastes gross and is ruined.

I believe the ziploc company makes some green bags type of things so you might check those out, should be able to pick them up at the store, I haven't used them, but would love to hear if they work for you or not!

ETA: Definitely agree about the slow cooker/crock pot. We use ours pretty much all the time. We make chili (stew meat is super cheap and cooks up nice and tender in the crock pot). And we make all sorts of other things in it. I love throwing stuff in there and not having to worry about it (and the house smells great all day!).

ETAx2: DYOT, you know you love me!

ETAx3: How did you get a spare? I have tried just about every lie in the book to get Bank of America to send me a spare but everytime they send me a new card they cancel the old one. I have even specifically asked them not to and they still do. Drives me nuts. I go through debit cards like crazy.Need some advice with my shopping list/cost. Is meal planning effective in cost control?
I don't do meal planning either. But I am trying my best to do. I see how this week goes with my meal planning. It hard to do and I don't know how it go with me. It reminds me I got to do meal planning for this week.
    tell them
Begin buying frozen produce when possible, make a list of everything you have in the house, then a list of meals you make frequently.

Only buy what you need. I spend about $180-200 every two weeks for myself and my daughters(dairy free which is expensive), my four cats, and diapers for two, always Pampers. A crock pot is also a real money-saving tool.

But ultimately yes, you need to plan meals. Also figuring out meals with common ingredients can help save by buying in bulk. Getting a pork roast? Get a large one, cut it in half then make a roast one night and bbq pulled pork another. Beef roast? Make stew too.

The green bags help but I plan my meals around my produce, making 'fresh' items on week one, and using frozen produce during the second week.
I have family members who have used the green bags for months and really believe they work to keep stuff fresh longer. I would only buy the smaller bags of salad. Look for the ones towards the back of the shelf because they have later expiration dates and stay fresh longer. I would buy more frozen and canned veges than fresh. Same with fruits. I freeze lunch meat sometimes and it stays fine that way. I think meal planning is a good idea, but personally I never do it. I always use a shopping list every time I go shopping though so we only get what we need. I think that helps some with cost control.
[scratching head] I can't believe I just thumbed-up KELSEY!!! for once. Solid advice. Anyway...

Yes, even a bit of planning will save a fair bit of coin.

I live in the sticks and one thing that makes a big difference is how fresh the produce is to start with. If I buy some mouldering junk from a Wal-Mart ';supercentre'; or whatever, it's garbage in five days no matter what. If I go to a farm or a proper greengrocer, stuff can keep for weeks if properly stored. Be extremely picky -- if there're two soggy grapes on the bunch, one wilted leaf in the lettuce tub, pass; it's not long before the rest of it will look like that.

If you can find a good place to shop it'll make all the difference -- your food will taste better, you'll probably spend less to get better produce, and, if you want to make stuff in advance and freeze it, that's the way to go. I'd rather have stuff I made from _good_ ingredients out of the freezer than stuff from ';fresh'; produce that really isn't.

If you have fridge space, fill it with jumbo jars of good deli what-not. I have huge things of marinated artichoke hearts, marinated mushrooms, good pickles, peppers, a big tub of feta, stuff like that. It's cheap if you buy in bulk, and it's a good kick for bland food that's easily stored.
Usually planning meals helps you consolidate ingredients and use more of what you have. Look through what you seem to have a lot of right now, and try to use those ingredients in some of your meals. Since you're shopping for 2 week's worth of food, you don't have to worry too much about being stuck with your meal choices. It's not like you have to assign specific meals to specific days. Just make sure you have the ingredients for all of the meals you want to make, see if you can re-use ingredients for similar meals close together (freeze them if you don't want spaghetti and lasagna right after each other), and see how it works out.

We're pretty bad about keeping produce for any amount of time, too. In my area, apples and potatoes end up being the freshest at the store and the ones that will keep the longest. You could try doing one week with tons of fresh produce and the next week with more frozen, dried, or canned fruits and veggies. Do your salads, fresh fruits and veggies, and all of that fun stuff in your first week while it's still good, and then take an off week where you focus on frozen veggies and fruits (or canned if you need/want).

Some veggies will freeze and then cook well, even when you can't eat them like fresh. Tomatoes, peppers, and carrots definitely don't work well to eat ';fresh'; after they've been thawed, but they work really well in soups and fajitas and whatnot.

Apples should last for 2 weeks, and you can get a batch of greener bananas and separate them. They should spend the first few days ripening and survive for another week or so.

And, not that you really need to hear this: double check to make sure you have your debit card before you go. :)

Edit: They let you get a spare? I've really been wanting to do that but keep thinking that they won't let me or something (not sure why, though). I had two for 3 years because I got to keep my old one with my maiden name when they issued a new one with my married name. The old one still worked, and I loved having it in case I left my card in my pants pocket or on the dresser. I'm happy for you!
I would suggest in your case perhaps getting canned or frozen produce for the second week.

Meal planning would help. Is it possible your just buying too much food? Do you need to throw the produce out because it is bad before the end of 2 weeks, or because you just aren't eating it in those 2 weeks?

I don't think you'll notice a great difference with the bags. Also most produce I buy does keep 2 weeks without a green bag...
the birdseye steamfresh veggies are good, and not super expensive. TOTALLY YES on meal planning - you can sit down and see what foods are on sale that wk at the store, and plan around that, spaghetti is pretty quick and easy, and cheap - box of noodles is like 1-2$ same for a jar of sauce. you just have to stick to your list...thats usually the hardest part. but having a meal plan also has the advantage in that you aren't sitting there at 400 in the afternoon going, i don't know what to make for dinner....

don't know about the green bags.
At the very least, you need to make a list before you go to the store. You'll save a ton of money that way. Don't allow yourself impulse buys. If you know what you're looking for, you can skip by a lot of the aisles instead of browsing, and stop yourself from throwing junk you don't need in the cart. Buy store brand whenever possible, too.

Another thing is to cut out the pre-packaged, processed garbage. Make things from scratch. Buy dried beans instead of canned, cook them, and freeze in small portions so they're easy to use. Make a big batch of cookie dough, cook a few, freeze the rest - much cheaper than buying logs of dough or boxes of Little Debbie snacks. Make a double batch of pancakes, muffins, waffles, etc and freeze half so you have some quick breakfasts. You can also buy extra of some items and freeze it so you don't have to run to the corner store and pay more in between shopping trips. Bread is one thing that comes to mind.

I also have been getting very good at making sure nothing goes to waste. Once every day or two, take a good look at what is about to go bad, and make sure you eat it soon. Re-purpose leftovers when possible. I found a recipe for oatmeal raisin muffins, so that little bit of oatmeal left over doesn't get tossed. Tiny bits of veggies leftover that no one wants to eat get thrown together in the deep freezer to make soup or stock later.

One other way I save money is by shopping at places like Big Lots or Dollar General for cleaning supplies, paper products, cat litter, stuff like that. You can usually get a pretty good deal. If you have a Sam's Club or Costco membership, those are a good way to buy things like that that won't go bad, as well.
Buy less produce and choose the produce that will last. Potatoes, onions, apples, carrots, dry oatmeal, corn meal, beets, cabbage keep well. Buy dried beans and keep them in jars with a bay leaf. Soak dry beans the night before, throw out water and cook beans an hr or more till tender.Buy whole mushrooms and store them in paper bags in the refrigerator. Eat the fruit and vegetables that won't keep the first week. For later, dried fruit (like raisins, apricots, etc.) will do. You can soak them before use if need be. Cooked cereals like oatmeal, make nourishing breakfasts.
well, first of all, make sure to eat the stuff that goes bad fast first. make your meal plans (your going to have to do it) judging by what will go the fastest.

second, when I became a sahm a couple years ago I started planning my meals and found it really did save me money. I'm embarrassed to say it, but I even made a game of how cheap I could make a healthy meal. I set a budget for suppers and if I stuck to it at the end of 2 weeks we indulged in an expensive meal.

    Good luck.

Edit: OMG I forgot the slow cooker! It's great for cheap cuts of meat and root veggies, which last pretty long.

What is Healthcare like Outside the US...cost control issues?

As a healthcare professional in the US, one of the most important issues for me in the upcoming election is healthcare.

While I am not necessarily opposed to nationalized healthcare, I fear that in the US, it will have some serious limitations. I've seen Michael Moore's ';Sicko'; as he profiles the system in Canada and England and seems to show people who are happy with the system. But considering his extreme left wing position, I am sure he definetely left out people who are dissatisfied with the system. I know in other countries there are issues such as people dying before their chemotherapy ever gets approved.

I fear this would be a possibility in the US because most of the proposed policies do very little to address the real problem...controlling costs. Privatization of drug companies... fivilous lawsuits (both against the medical community and in personal injury claims).

So what I want to know is: what is health care like in other countries where (see more below)What is Healthcare like Outside the US...cost control issues?
In terms of your real question - ';what is healthcare like outside the U.S.'; - I can speak as a U.S. citizen who has had surgery in Costa Rica. I found the technology equal, and the patient care superior, with the cost of the surgery about 1/3 of what it would have cost in the U.S.

There is no health insurance in Costa Rica. The government provides care for the poorest of citizens. The rest of its citizens can afford health care because, again, there is NO insurance to either raise or determine pricing.

There is also no recourse for medical lawsuits. Which sounds scary, but has meaningful repurcussions for the cost of care. Instead of one person wronged in ';medical malpractice';, profitting at the expense of many via insurance lawsuit money (which does nothing to chastise the doctor making the mistake), it is incumbent upon the DOCTOR to right any medical wrong committed. Or his reputation in this small country - and his salary and credentials - are ruined. Placing the responsibility BACK on doctors to provide quality care - instead of leaving it to the insurance companies to dole out dollars on frivolous lawsuits - means lower costs for everyone.

In my opinion, the U.S. does not have the BEST healthcare system in the world...just one of the most EXPENSIVE.

This election is critical in changing our health care crisis. I blogged on the various candidates health care platforms on http://www.lowcosthealth4u.blogspot.com. We need to be informed and involved, so we can vote in the candidate we feel will bring about the most positive changes in our current system. Which BADLY needs reform. What is Healthcare like Outside the US...cost control issues?
Although many may disagree, my oppinion is that McCain does not have the qualities I am looking for in a leader. I think he does not have the business experience to run the country like Mitt Romney-only candidate to run a business nor the resoluteness to rid a city of crime like Juliani. Consequently he knows about health care costs more than McCain. I also believe that McCain lets his anger get away with him and really is not a good speaker. I saw him really deride a women in the plame case. As a result, I think his ability to deal with the high cost of everything including health care can neither be trusted to work in the white house nor for the good of our citizens.

Michael Moore is a sensationalist similar to Louis Farakan. He has a history of not qualifying his facts. He is far off with his points on health care as well as everything else. I live in Michigan and worked in the healthcare system. A lot of canadiens work in our detroit hospitals. Many canadiens look for care in the US and have to wait for the use of good equipment in Canada. That is the continuing criticism of national health care in Canada and Michael Moore.

Moore's criticism of Kmart for carrying bullets and indirectly supporting gun use is well not a fare burden Kmart had to carry. They were a supplier of hunting and fishing goods. Moore's criticism of GM was also geared toward promoting himself and selling his movies. GM for years had to cut down on some overpaid workers who (I have seen them) were sleeping on the job. Consequently, Moore has no background to profile anything.

I am sorry if I sound like a conservative but am tired of the left being allowed to commit crimes, whitewater, kennedy-chapequidick. Many of them are so interested in themselves above everyone they are not only a poor choice for leading but do not even commit enough understanding of the issues let alone do anything about them.

While I think that health care is definitely out of hand. I was charged twenty dollars by a doctor for giving me a referrel and not solving my problem. I think that health care is not better elsewhere. In addition to lowering health care costs we should reduce the amount of people that work for the government.
Health care has no regulations outside of the insurance companies. In the end it will take nothing short of a miracle to change this.

How about drug companies charging whatever they want for meds? Advertising on tv to get common folks to ask their doctors to ask about their products? It is crazy.
Proffit is a good motor for evolution. Honesty and charity is not.

It`s easyer to manage a proffit-driven organisation than a non-proffit-organisation. A national health system can`t aim for any proffit, this is the goal of private corporations.

It is possible to have an efficient national healthcare system, in the utopian world of communism. The problem is that people are not equal, so they want proffit.

In Romania we have a NHS - it would still be working if the National Insurance Company would pay what they should to the system, but they don`t. The National Health Insurance House has great buildings as any other bank does... They have miriffic salaries, that a practitionar doctor (a family phisician) don`t even dream... athough they all are phisicians.

I am sure a NHS is viable. As a social partner to the 'real' one, the private. The prices in the NHS are very low. The goal is supposed to be social but actually it`s a mess. Too many of our coleagues are emigrating in the EU as Romania is now part of the comunity.

My net salary is 192euro. The car I need is 10.000euro and the gas is lower than motorine, about 1euro/liter (3,4euro/gallon)

Now let`s get down to business:

    - in Romania most of the oncological pacients, do get chemotherapy in time; unfortunately they get too late the right diagnostic

    - yes, malpraxis is possible to initiate, but quite difficult to finalize being extremely technical for a lawer. The Medical College has the last word on the matter. Maybe raven to raven don`t take the eyes, but onestly now, the Medical College Disciplinary Commision is the only institution able to judge technical medical isues.

+ an average malpraxis policy is 50-100.000euros at a yearly cost of 40euro, but the insurance company wouldn`t pay back if the case because they would reveal some inapparent conditions in the contract that the benefficiary doctor broke... it is a common practice that the bank don`t show you all the conditions when you sign - when you ask, they will tell you that ';it`s all in the contract';... :( shameless.

    - some funny thing: you can sue for a lot of things, but you have to prouve you are right, not only the other is whrong. usually if you get hit on the pietonal passage, the guy gets it, but if you are not on a passage.. you pay for all the dammage.

    - the foreign ';drug company'; paid the right amount to the right persons and won all the public auctions, so now we don`t have many romanian drugs. they have a huge amount of promoting agents, most of them are our colleagues, having a salary from 600euros to 4-5000(the regional directors)

    - the only advantage in the statal management of the health insurance are stocs: the drug company bride the right autorities and win the auctions, the National Health Insurance House pays from public money some grotesque expensive drugs and put them in stoc. when a pacient needs them, they get it. if that drug is on stoc. simple. 17.000$ for a bag.. here are about 6000$. while 3weeks of hospitalisation cost about

1200$. but the only one that feels the costs is the hospital manager. none of the other care about costs. you may be wondering why I am so sure the auctions are bought.. because it is impossible to win the auctions all the most expensive drugs on the market. NB: in Romania the national health insurance system pays also for part of the drugs used in ambulatory and for all the costs of the hospitalisation, including drugs. sometimes, they say ';oops,we finished funds'; and if you are in real trouble, you have to collect/borrow to pay for your life.

In conclusion: in Romania the isue is not to control the costs, but to maximize them as the commission from public money gets greater :D

To get more ideas on the Romanian NHS, and specially the incredible in my oppinion 'free home healthcare', pls visit http://drsvoice.wordpress.com or for the romanian lecturers, our ';Together for health'; Foundation`s page, http://fips.uv.ro
Here in the Philippines, the problems are antiquated equipment. We have some good doctors but they have to wing it a lot because of the equipment. The hospitals and operating rooms in most hospitals are dirty. Malpractice suits are almost non-existent. It's almost impossible to open a lawsuit. The system is corrupt. Most of the medicines are leftovers and expired from the U.S. and other developed countries.

it depends on which kind she gets and if youre in college if they have a health center that offers discounts... most cost between 5-8 dollars if you get them through school... if you get them at the store there usually between $38-90 (the expensive being seasonal which is for 3 months) or you can go to Planned ParentHood which can range from free to a few dollars... good luck and its a big commitment... and its always best to use a condom tooMy girlfriend is a vigin and she is curious about sex. How Much does birth control cost?
Condoms and birth control methods are cheaper than all the things a baby needs
I want to compliment you on asking a very grownup question. If more teenagers would ask this question before having sex then there just might not be as many unwanted pregnancies.

Birth Control is not expensive or dangerous. You see BC is the act of preventing the sperm from reaching the egg. The Sperm you as a male carry and the egg is what your girlfriend carries. So if you girl friend is thinking about having sex with you, then you and her should research exactly what that means. First if you are not in school go to the library and check out books on pregnancy, birth control and prevention.

Once that is done you girl friend should go to the doctor and have a vaginal check up. Once women start having sex this is really a must. Now if you are in a large town there are clinics set up to help teenagers to understand and prevent pregnancies.

You being the male need to understand your role in the process of having sex. You should always wear a condom and you can buy them at the drug store. Or in the men's bathrooms of a truck stop. Please don't be embarrassed as it is an adult thing to do, by buying condoms.

Your girlfriends doctor can prescribe the best BC for her as every girls is different and with the right medical help from a licensed doctor he/she will know which method is correct for her.

If you are under 16, it would be a good idea to wait for a while then to explore the world of sex. Sex is and can be fun for the 3.5 minutes it takes but if done incorrectly it can be a 18 year sentence of hell for the woman and the father. Sex can bring a relationship closer or in most case drive the lovers further apart.

So think long and hard about having it. If you love her deeply and she is under 18.... best wait for a while but do the research.

    Good Luck
    its cheaper than i kid
go to the health dept. it's free
It's not just her buddy. You better wrap that little rascal up in a condom no matter what she decides. As the first person answered, it cost plenty if you screw up. My father told me '; If you are man enough to have sex, you better be man enough to be a Dad.'; Well, are you?
Birth control pills are not that expensive. Try going to planned parenthood and they will be fair and go off of your income and charge you according to your income.
birth control can cause cancer over a period of time.use a rubber or wait till she is old enough to have sex curiosity killed the cat.
y u and her not wait until married??
my friend, Birth control pills may have side effects, n she'll have to take it for a whole month on a daily basis, its better n safer if you just use a condom, if you want to be extra safe, use 2 condoms at a time. all the best n enjoy the experiments.
I don't know how much it costs but I do know it is nto expensive and it is not dangerous, unless you forget a day. Big Thumbs Up for caring so much about your girlfriend!!!
I think having sex should be a when two people love each other. Not just having sex because you are curious.
Costs vary depending upon things like insurance and financial need. Have her go to the local health department and fill out the information in order to find out the answer. It could be she could them for free. Birth control is not dangerous when used properly. It is far more dangerous and expensive to not have birth control.
A box of condoms costs $2. And nobody's died from them... except that one girl who swallowed one.
nothing if you go to a family planning clinic.....she can get the pill...or even injections or a implant...you can also buy some condoms, they dont cost much...if you feel shy about going to the chemist to buy them...they are available in washrooms in the pub or in public toilets...dont get her pregnant
depends on what birth control.....usually it averages out to $20-$30 a week.

as far as that being expensive.....try the cost of having a baby!

tell her to go to planned parenthood. they usually can direct you to a clinic that offers low cost birth control. and ethically, you should be responsible to pay for at least half of it.
It costs quite a bit if you screw it up..............
if your a teenager you can get it for free, if your not and you have insurance you can get it for 6$ a month, its not dangerous its the best thing ever put in a pharmacy!!!
It really depends on the type to birth control she wants. The shot for 19+ is $50 w/o insurance and w/ insurance it's just whatever your copay is. For teenagers you go to you local health department and get it for free, for teens, and about $10 for 19+.

Condoms are always free at a local health dept.

    REMEMBER Always preactice safer sex.
