Could giving the government control of health care cost you your life?

Yes. they will eventually be forced to ration care and you may be on the wrong side of any analysis they do..

eg.: My grandmother who is 89 lives in Ft Erie, ON and had a major heart attack last week. The nearest hospital was in Niagara Falls. She arrived and they had no cardiologist on staff so an internist saw her. Instead of putting her in an ICU or even an acute bed they placed her in geriatric rehab. They gave her a few Plavex and discharged her two days later. She is now in a CCU in a Buffalo area hospital getting the tests she should have gotten in Canada and guess what? An evil insurance company is paying for it..

Does it seem like the Canadian government cared more about her getting proper treatment than the American insurance company?..Could giving the government control of health care cost you your life?
I guess so but not any different then what the private insurance companies are already in control of your care/life.

When the Medicare bill was proposed to the house only 43 years ago. The public fought to keep that from not passing - much like a lot of people are doing now about the Health Care Reform Bill.

Medicare did pass and now it seems people are scared there will be cuts to the program. Why do they even care if they fought in the first place to keep it from passing? Is it because it is not that bad of a Health Insurance program for Seniors after all? You mean to say people were wrong back then to protest it? Or course if was not a perfect solution but people are sure scared now if they even think there might be the slightest change or cut backs to the program.

So form your own opinion but it seems that the Medicare program does and has worked for Seniors (although it is running out of funds) but if cutbacks are mentioned to help with the funds people get scared they do not want any changes to the program to help with cost.

So I assume atleast for Seniors they are happy with a Governement health plan. I do not see why a Governement Plan for the general public would be any different.Could giving the government control of health care cost you your life?
Same as without government control. Without people still die in the hospitals and otherwise. The difference is it's too costly to live at the moment. If a person needs a lengthy and expensive treatment now to get better, they have to choose between getting it or bankrupting an entire family. All insurance companies now have a money limit on coverage. Whatever would get them under control is Ok in my book.
Not as much as the profit-minded insurance companies. The government is at least interested in people getting treatment for their illnesses. Given the denial rates and the huge profits insurance companies are making, I doubt they have my health in their best interest. Think about it, if I see a doctor, it costs them money. Why would they want that?
Yes, Sarah Palin is right - there will be death panels.

She's right because the economics say she is right. A critical resource can only be stretched so far - once that limit is met a rationing decision must be made. Just hope that when it is you're not sent home with one of the Dear Leader Obama's pain pills.
Think of it this way, In America you cant afford to have a life saving operation, or you do get it but the insurance company's find a way to make you in debt for the rest of your life. But while in Canada you get this operation and live happily ever after... lol.
Not if your one of the millions of uninsured Americans or were dropped by your insurer for having a pre-existing condition.
Of course, it sure will not save lives.
yes ,i do not want obama care
More likely to save it.
