What's your idea of ';reasonable';? If you give us a price range, then at least we have a place to start.

The Benjamin 392(.22) or 397(.177) %26gt;previously suggested%26lt; would be an excellent choice. They are a lightweight, carbine style rifle with plenty of power and accuracy for rat busting.

You can find great deals on high quality S/H springers.Whats the best small vermin control air rifle at a reasonable cost?
For rats, anything from the $40 Daisy Powerline 880 series to the $140 Benjamin 392's would work just fine.

I would say a spring powered air rifle would be best for quick reloads though, so something like the Gamo shadow would work just fine (although I think Gamo is a little over priced), as well as the Crossman 1000x.

I use a Beeman Sportsman RS2 and I've never had a problem with it, although some others have.

The Remington Airmaster 77 is another good option for under $100, but like the Daisy the range will be limited to around 10-15 yards or so.
I would have to agree w/the Gamo (even though they ARE over-priced). Another good option is the Ruger (AirHawk ?) Either are much more powerful than your average Daisy or Crossman.
I have an old crossman .22 pellet gun. I mean ancient single shot and it kills rabbits to rats and all you hear is the spring.
I had a Webley %26amp; Scott point 144 , that use to kill rat's .
Your a sick f*ck, a little sport? Clearly no life.

How about something humane? Then again at least a air rifle would be quicker than poison, if you have an amazingly good shot.
