How does a well plan receiving program contribute to cost and quality control

please help me...urgent....How does a well plan receiving program contribute to cost and quality control
The primary benefit is that defective material (doesn't meet specs, etc) can be identified and segregated before it can be put into use in manufacturing.

Doing this reduces both scrap costs and wasted effort. It also makes the process easier to get the supplier to replace the material.
