I know that the government is currently trying to seek even further control over the way healthcare will continue, ut what have been some specific events of this behavior. How has the government attempted to control healthcare cost?
A doctors perspective:

All supporters care about is that it's FREE which is 100% return on what they have now -- no insurance and no responsibility. Reform is needed -- not this kind of reform.
This Doctor puts things in perspective. How has the government attempted to control healthcare cost?
Right now the medical field is controled by several huge insurance companies that control medical practices and prices. It is now, as much a monopoly that people are screaming about the govt. trying to install. What would be sponcered by the govt. is competition that would suck from the insurance companies and allow people that can't afford the high insurance a chance to get some. It would stop the cherry pickin' by allowing those with pre existing conditions to get some insurance to help them. Insurance only want to insure you if you are healthy dah...
They haven't in 30 or 40 years .
what?
i don't see people on medicare raising their hand to give up their GOVERNMENT CONTROLLED coverage.
we ALL are already paying for uninsured people. why do you think one tylenol in a hospital costs $25? and don't forget the billionaire ceo's of the medical industry are sipping margarita's on a remote beach, whooping it up on your dime?
The usual way. Preventing companies that research and develop new drugs from selling them at marketable prices. And vilifying doctors and insurance companies by lowering their wages and overly taxing their income.
hahahahaha,the gov. control costs ..................
First off -
They are proposing to fund it with deep cuts 500 Billion - they are taking from MEDICARE.
Then they are going to soak the rich - when they bleed them dry
they will come after you.
The cost doesn't matter to them. They are relying on the tax payer's deep pockets.
The gentlemen in this video covers the subject quite well. part two can be found in the play list.

The cost is the real problem, but they don't care. They only want control.
Finally, an important and informed question regarding this topic.
The Obama Administration has, to some degree, fooled people into thinking that providing government health care at a lower cost will provide incentives for insurance companies to keep their premiums lower. The problem with this, obviously, is that the costs of health CARE drive the high premiums. The government's cheaper health care will not promote lower private insurance costs any better than Wal-Mart promotes local Mom-and-Pop retail stores.
If the government wanted to control costs, they would 1) support tort reform and 2) make individuals increasingly responsible for bearing the cost burden of their health care. THAT is what personal responsibility is about. Providing it to everyone who ';can't'; get it on their own encourages dependence.
The only government controlled health care is Medicare. The cons say ';we don't want government controlled health care, but don't take away my Medicare.';
