How much does it cost the average person to control HIV?

The cost of medication, antibiotics, research, etc. If money was no option, how much money would it take to ensure the longevity of your life when you have contracted HIV?How much does it cost the average person to control HIV?
Without insurance, I have read that the cost of medications per year in the U.S. would be about $16,000 for the HIV meds, not the costs of other meds, doctors' appointments, and any other health care needs. How much does it cost the average person to control HIV?
Even with insurance HIV can be costly to manage, in the US we do however have some programs to help people pay for their medication. The unfortunate part is the new/more effective the drugs are generally the more expensive ones. This means your medications could be under patent for 5 - 10 years and cost thousands of dollars.
To give you a rough idea, I spend about $50 for my meds (x2). Now I've been HIV+ for the past 5 years and I'm going to live for a very long time so do the math!

Personally I think my country, Australia, is a very lucky country because my country subsidises the medication greatly.
Of all the discussions we can have about HIV, see what HIV/AIDS has done to the African children:check out,
